A Title until tomorrow
Version of Visions
Exploring the collective as a way of understanding the designer’s role today.
In today’s meeting we felt a strong need for entitling our upcoming exhibition – to push each of us forward and to have a starting point for every group to work on. Please feel free to comment/have constructive criticism. Details in the naming are still open. But if anybody has got some strong dislike with the title, he/she has to come up with an alternative. Otherwise this title will be settled by tomorrow. //Michl

The Blog

This article should be a platform to collect our visual and technical requirements regarding the blog. Astrid and a few others already did some good job adapting the template for our needs. Please feel free to change/edit this post by adding your needs, suggestions concerning structure, functionality, visual appearance, etc.. If it’s OK with you people, I could take responsibility for implementing your wishes. If I need help, I’ll annoy some of you HTML-cracks out there.
Open house - additional ideas
Since there were a few people who wanted to work with other formats than the A1 poster in 2D for the open house we decided to meet today to discuss additional ideas. Here are some thoughts that came up. Those of you who participated today please feel free to correct me if I misinterpreted or missed anything.
We are suggesting an addition to the open house exhibition next week. We feel that it would be more valuable to us at this point in the exhibition project to invite the audience / visitor to open discussions and workshops on topics relevant to your own (or a collaborative) project. One way of doing this is to host several workshops at once, or one after another throughout the day.
Working this way would be a way of sharing / collaborating / inviting collective thinking from people outside the school environment. Topics in the workshops would be questions from our projects that we are interested in exploring at this point in the project. Material used could be the suggested pool of images, words etc but with the liberty of being able to cut and paste and edit the material during the workshop. Maybe additional 3D materials and objects could be interesting except for images and texts?
Whoever is interested in joining to organize these workshops to explore a topic of your interest is of course welcome. These workshops could be either a part of a joint class exhibition at the open house but an alternative could be to create several exhibitions in different formats where the poster idea is one and the workshop idea another.
Thoughts anyone?
Theresa
